Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery Organized a Blood Donation Campaign
Under the patronage of Deputy CEO of Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, Shujaa Salem Al-Ajmi, the Medical Team, affiliated with the Health, Safety, and Environment Department, in collaboration with the Kuwait Central Blood Bank, organized a blood donation campaign at the Integrated Operations Building (IOB) within the refinery.
The campaign bore fruit: 200 blood bags, each a vessel of hope. But this was no isolated act. Mr. Al-Ajmi extended a heartfelt invitation to all employees of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company to actively participate in and support the company’s year-round campaign titled “Donate Life.” He expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized top management’s commitment to overcoming any obstacles faced by the Medical Team during blood donation drives or other health awareness campaigns aimed at fostering a culture of well-being among employees.
This marked the fourth campaign of the fiscal year 2023/2024. The first, held at Mina Abdullah Refinery in November, amassed 250 bags. December saw the second campaign at the company’s main headquarters in Al-Ahmadi, yielding 93 bags. January, resolute and purposeful, witnessed the third campaign at the Sabhan Depots Clinic, where 201 bags were collected. In sum, the company’s contribution stood at an impressive 744 blood bags.
Dr. Walid Al-Harbi, Head of the Medical Team, highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to organizing voluntary campaigns that benefit the community across various domains. KNPC consistently ranks among the top three contributors to the Kuwait Blood Bank, both in government and private sectors, thanks to its regular blood donation initiatives. Dr. Al-Harbi underscored the rigorous post-donation tests conducted on each blood bag, ensuring quality and freedom from infectious diseases. Should any medical concern arise, the bank acted swiftly, maintaining utmost confidentiality while advising the donor to seek professional medical guidance.
