On-Going Projects
Building a Sustainable Future Through Innovation and Expansion
KNPC is constantly striving to maintain it's leading world class refiner position by initiating new projects aligned with the 2040 Strategy & 2050 Energy Transition Strategy, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. These initiatives focus on upgrading operations, reducing environmental impact, and positioning Kuwait as a pivotal player in the global energy sector. Below are few of the upcoming projects in the next 8 years:
On-Going Projects
The Company has strategically planned to construct 100 new filling stations across Kuwait to meet the country’s expansion and rising demand for oil products. 18 stations are already operational, with the remaining to be built over the next five years. These state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly stations feature modern aesthetics and advanced technology to enhance service delivery.
The project aims to rehabilitate the existing unit in Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery to process all acid gases expected to be produced by KOC. These gases will then be sent to the gas-processing units for conversion into high-value gases.
The project includes building a new depot in Al-Mitla’a area, north of Kuwait, 11 new tanks (7 for gasoline and 4 for gas oil), along with advanced pumps and loading arms. In addition, two 130 km pipelines each, 12 inches of diameter, to transport 91 octane and 95 octane gasoline, and one 45 km pipeline with 14 inches diameter for gas oil.
The project entails demolishing the existing North Facility and constructing a new South Arm with a 50-year operational lifespan. Engineered to the highest specifications and incorporating the latest technology, the upgraded export facilities will facilitate synchronized loading of tankers with shipment and bunker fuel simultaneously.
The New North Oil Pier in Mina Al-Ahmadi is a replacement of the current oil pier, to include comprehensive renovations to enhance the pier’s safety and expanding its operational life until 2030.
