Energy Transition Strategy 2050
Kuwait National Petroleum Company is making intensive efforts to integrate the concept of Sustainability and Energy Transition and has formed a dedicated team (KNPC Energy Transition Committee) to achieve KPC’s Energy Transformation Strategy 2050. The Conference held by KPC in October 2023 to launch this Strategy presented a set of initiatives to contribute to our future plan with the attempt to reduce gas emissions.
Improving Flare Gas Recovery Units
Establishment of additional Flare Gas Recovery Units at Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah Refineries.
Increasing Energy Efficiency
Improving Energy Efficiency in various Kuwait National Petroleum Company sites and facilities.
Conducting Multiple Studies
A Study for the potential production of Blue Hydrogen and Biofuels.
Utilizing Solar Panels
Expansion in using Solar Panels at Company Facilities, as well as Company Filling Stations.
Providing Charging Points for Electric Vehicles
A Study for providing Kuwait National Petroleum Company Filling Stations with Charging Points to keep pace with the global trend for Electric Vehicles.
Tree Plantation
Collaborating efforts with Kuwait Oil Company for the plantation of trees covering an area of 500 KM of land by 2050, aiming to reduce CO2 Emissions.
